CD Projekt RED has crafted an expansive saga with Cyberpunk 2077. Beyond the base game, the title has grown with the Phantom Liberty expansion, a sequel in development, and the acclaimed Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime that captivated audiences worldwide. However, some dream of even more projects centered around Night City, and Idris Elba—who portrays Solomon Reed in the expansion—is one of them. The actor has expressed his interest in starring in a live-action adaptation of the series.

In an interview with Screen Rant regarding his role in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, where he voices Knuckles, Elba was asked whether he would return to the Cyberpunk universe alongside Keanu Reeves, who plays Johnny Silverhand, in a live-action project. Elba’s response was enthusiastic: “Oh, that’s a great question. I think if any game could be a live-action interpretation, it could be Cyberpunk 2077, and I think, together, his [Reeves’] character and my character would be ‘Wow.’ So let’s make it happen.”

While Elba’s words reflect a personal desire rather than confirmation of a project in development, it’s worth noting that the Cyberpunk universe already includes the successful Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime, and there is also an upcoming Netflix animated series and a movie adaptation in the works. Elba made it clear that he has room in his schedule to participate in any project set within Night City.

Cyberpunk 2077 Receives Update 2.2

Meanwhile, CD Projekt RED continues to improve the original Cyberpunk 2077 experience. The studio recently surprised fans by announcing Update 2.2, which arrived unexpectedly. This significant patch focuses on customization, introducing new car painting options, additional character creation tools, new adjustments for Photo Mode, and other extras.
