Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Is Naoe the Fastest Assassin Yet?

The French publisher promises that one of the main characters in the new Assassin’s Creed will be much faster than ever before, making her the fastest Assassin ever…

Jonathan Dumont, creative director of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, told Entertainment Weekly that Naoe will be the fastest Assassin in the franchise. She runs very fast, has a lot of gadgets to maintain her stealth, and doesn’t have to be in constant combat. They wanted to satisfy players who want that ninja Assassin style (not coincidentally, this episode is set in feudal Japan, originally scheduled for release in November, then postponed).

Dumont also hinted that Naoé will have the running style seen in Naruto, so she will lean forward and keep her arms behind her back when she runs. Not only will she be a playable character, but so will Yasuke. He’ll be a samurai specializing in melee combat, based on a historical figure (Naoe is a fictional character), and will follow the style of the last few Assassin’s Creed protagonists.

Naoe is not so new, however, as the French publisher has a franchise that has basically focused on stealth. You may all be familiar with the name Splinter Cell… again, you had to hide in the shadows, and it was a good idea to keep the lights off so that Sam Fisher, the franchise’s iconic protagonist, would be hard to find. A remake of the first Splinter Cell is in the works, which inexplicably still hasn’t shown much of itself, even though it’s been announced for quite some time (just don’t let it end up like Beyond Good & Evil 2…).

Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which is being developed by Ubisoft Québec, is scheduled for release on February 14th, right in the middle of the big February gaming rush, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, Mac and iPad. (What about Amazon Luna? The publisher is a strong supporter of the cloud platform…)
