Star Wars: The Age of Republic: Before the Mask: General Grievous’ Pre-Cyborg Appearance Finally Revealed

MOVIE NEWS – Have you ever seen what Grievous looked like before his cyborg transformation? Star Wars is finally showing us what General Grievous looked like before he became a cyborg.

Have you ever wondered what was hidden under General Grievous’ mask in Star Wars? If so, you don’t have to wonder anymore, because it’s been revealed, and frankly, it’s a bit disappointing how ordinary it is. If you were expecting some hideous alien or a mangled wreck, you’re in for a big surprise.

Star Wars: The Age of Republic

Star Wars: The Dark Side was recently remastered in 4K. In the recent issues of the Star Wars comic book series, The Age of Republic, writer Jody Houser has focused on a character from the prequel trilogy in each issue. The final issue dealt with Grievous, who was chasing two Jedi on the planet Ledeve. When he finally finds the Jedi and kills them, he discovers a datasheet and information about why they were on the planet. It turns out that there is a Jedi temple there that hides secrets.

Grievous’s past

Of course, he goes in search of secrets and finds a waterfall in which he immerses his entire body. This transports him to a Force realm where he sees himself before his cyborg enhancements, when he was just an ordinary Kaleesh warrior. Grievous hears his own voice mocking him for his enhancements. Grievous responds by shouting, “I have enhanced myself!“, before leaving the waterfall and ordering his fleet to bomb the temple and destroy it. The vision shows an ordinary Kaleesh with orange skin, a long face, and three horns protruding from its chin. Her trademark golden eyes gleam against wrinkled skin, which was eventually covered by her elegant mask.

It’s interesting to see what she originally looked like, and how the dark side pushed her to abandon her origins and transform her body into an idealized version. Now fans can see the man she once was. Age of Republic has ended, but the series is being collected and sold in a single package at regular retailers.
