Exciting news for Indiana Jones: The Great Circle became a smash hit in the United States, trailing only behind Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in its debut week.
Debates continue about whether Game Pass boosts or hinders game sales. However, one thing is clear: a quality game can shine regardless of its availability on subscription services. The latest example is Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, MachineGames’ newest title, which claimed the position of the second-best-selling game in its launch week in the U.S.
Although worldwide data and combined sales figures for PC and Xbox Series X|S have not yet been disclosed, The Great Circle‘s ability to secure second place in the U.S. is an encouraging sign. This information comes from Mat Piscatella, CEO of Circana, shared via Bluesky. Released on December 9, the game was outpaced only by Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 during the week ending December 14.
Piscatella, who rarely shares weekly rankings, emphasized the standout performance of this new game, where Troy Baker voices the iconic archaeologist famously portrayed by Harrison Ford. This accomplishment is particularly impressive given the challenging pre-Christmas market, a time when many publishers opt for November releases to capitalize on Black Friday sales.
Additionally, the launch of MachineGames’ Indiana Jones brought notable changes to the lower ranks of the sales chart. Piscatella highlighted how Astro Bot climbed from 11th to 7th place during the same week it won Game of the Year at the 2024 The Game Awards.
When Will Indiana Jones Arrive on PS5?
For now, the overall performance data for the game is still awaited and may be released later. It’s worth noting that the title is available on Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam and Microsoft Store), and through Xbox Game Pass. However, these aren’t the only platforms set to host the game. According to Bethesda, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will land on PS5 in spring 2025, though an exact release date has yet to be confirmed.
