Invariant: A New Sci-Fi Shooter Inspired by Half-Life

It may not be Half-Life 3, but it aims to capture its essence, delivering a gripping sci-fi shooter with a compelling story. Developed by genre enthusiasts, Invariant was announced this Christmas.

While Half-Life 3 remains elusive, fans of the series are far from left behind. Valve’s iconic sci-fi saga continues to spark creativity across the globe, giving rise to promising projects like Invariant.

Recently revealed and already available to wishlist on Steam, Invariant is a high-quality action-shooter crafted by a passionate team of fans with a story to tell. It promises precise combat mechanics, intricate puzzles, and a chilling narrative that sets it apart from the crowd. Does this sound intriguing yet?

A Haunting Tale Set in Antarctica

Invariant takes players to a cutting-edge research station in Antarctica, where a mission critical to humanity’s survival unfolds. Naturally, things have gone horribly wrong, and it’s up to you, playing as a scientist, to restore order. Along the way, you’ll face a rebellious AI, strange creatures, and unhinged colleagues, using an arsenal of weapons, tools, and your quick thinking to overcome numerous challenges.

Though no release date has been set yet, a first trailer for the game is already available. The game will launch on PC via Steam. Let’s not forget that Half-Life: Alyx brought the series to VR a few years back with Valve Index.
