TECH NEWS – There are more unusual things to see on the new device from One-Netbook, but there will also be some interesting things under the hood.
One-Netbook has teamed up with Sugar Cubes to create a new handheld for gaming, and it has two displays (not common either). One-Netbook has caught my attention with other hardware, whether it’s external GPUs or video gaming handhelds, but there’s the OneXFly F1 Pro, which makes the company the first to use AMD’s Strix Point APU (and it won’t be cheap), but for that OneXSugar is taking a different direction.
It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It is not known at the moment which model it will use, but it certainly won’t be competing against Windows-based handhelds, since it will run Android.Even the design and specifications are not very well known, but the teaser has shown us what the device looks like, although we have to add that the render is not very polished, so there is not much of interest to be found on the OneXSugar.
The OneXSugar has two screens. Both can be open at the same time, or you can use only the primary display. If the second display is also open, you can rotate the controllers and then connect them to the smaller, lower display, which also changes the orientation of the controllers for control. What can be said in the absence of information is that this device will therefore compete with other Android devices, and the two displays absolutely bring to mind the Nintendo DS – after all, two decades ago it was the handheld that enabled the big N to beat Sony’s first handheld, the PlayStation Portable (PSP, although it sold quite well).
So let’s not think of the OneXSugar as a device that will compete with, say, the Asus ROG Ally, the Steam Deck, or the OneXFly F1 Pro, because there are Android devices on the market, but they’re not usually talked about as much.
