TECH NEWS – LG Electronics (LG) will introduce its all-new UltraGear™ GX9 OLED monitor family at CES 2025. Highlights of the lineup include the 45GX990A model – which won three CES Innovation Awards, including the prestigious ‘Best of Innovation’ award – and an all-in-one smart gaming monitor running LG’s webOS system.

The UltraGear GX9 series models deliver a stunning gaming experience on curved displays featuring LG’s advanced WOLED technology. Gamers can feel right in the middle of the action with high brightness, deep blacks, stunning colors, and an optimal curve. In addition, LG’s Anti-Glare & Low Reflection (AGLR) coating minimizes glare and reflection, making it easier to follow the action on the screen even in brighter rooms.

Both the 45GX990A and 45GX950A are 45-inch, 21:9 gaming monitors that offer an ultra-high 5K2K resolution (5120 x 2160). The 21:9 aspect ratio provides a better gaming experience than traditional 16:9 displays, while also providing better content compatibility with 32:9 monitors. The large display area makes these monitors ideal for a variety of uses, not just gaming.

LG has equipped both products with its second-generation Dual-Mode feature, which allows users to customize the aspect ratio (21:9 or 16:9) and image size (39, 34 or 27 inches). Gamers can also easily switch between preset resolutions and refresh rates with a single touch. With eight different configurations, users can customize the settings to suit their preferences or game type, such as FPS, RPG, MOBA, or car simulator.

The LG UltraGear OLED Gaming Monitor (model 45GX990A) is the world’s first 5K2K foldable OLED display¹. Another standout display in the GX9 series is the 45GX950A model. The 45-inch 21:9 OLED screen displays sharp, vibrant images with stunning colors and exceptional contrast. With a nearly frameless design on four sides and thin bezels, gamers can focus even more on the game. The monitor is equipped with a pixel density of 125 pixels per inch (PPI) and RGWB subpixels, making in-game text easier to read, while editing documents or managing website content is also easier. Like its foldable counterpart, the 45GX950A is equipped with Dual-Mode, which offers eight customizable configurations and supports DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C connections with 90W of power delivery. This ensures seamless compatibility with the latest graphics cards and features like variable refresh rate (VRR), while also allowing you to charge external devices. NVIDIA G-SYNC® and AMD FreeSync™ Premium Pro certified, the monitor reduces screen tearing for a smoother and faster gaming experience.
