Marvel Rivals shares exciting news: the Fantastic Four are confirmed as playable characters in the hero-shooter. Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and the Thing are set to join the multiplayer roster.
Despite being less than a month old, Marvel Rivals has quickly established itself as a standout hero-shooter with immense potential. Developed by NetEase, the free-to-play game has captivated players, amassing a staggering 10 million users within just 72 hours. While the game’s early success is noteworthy, the team remains focused on expanding its content, with the Fantastic Four as the next big addition.
The Fantastic Four Join Marvel Rivals
NetEase announced the arrival of Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and the Thing on X (formerly Twitter), where the post quickly garnered attention. “Get ready to welcome Marvel’s First Family in Marvel Rivals,” reads the developer’s message. The announcement also teased a trailer premiering on January 6 at 5:00 PM, which promises more details about the Fantastic Four’s gameplay abilities.
Fans have many questions regarding the inclusion of this iconic team. Most expect the Thing to take on the role of a Vanguard (tank), but the specific roles of Reed Richards, Susan Storm, and Johnny Storm between the Duelist and Tactician classes remain unclear. Additionally, some players hope to see H.E.R.B.I.E., featured in NetEase’s promotional image, as a playable character. More clarity will arrive with the upcoming trailer.
Season 1 Is Almost Here
Alongside the Fantastic Four, Marvel Rivals is gearing up for the launch of its first official season. Although NetEase hasn’t confirmed an end date for the current preseason, which began on December 6, players speculate that the Battle Pass will conclude on January 10. This points to Season 1 launching shortly thereafter.
