Wolf Man is Not Only Scary, But Also an Emotional Weed, According to the Makers

MOVIE NEWS – A new teaser trailer for The Wolf Man is now available, featuring behind-the-scenes details from the cast and crew. The reimagining of the classic story follows Blake (Christopher Abbott), a San Francisco family man who inherits the family farm in a remote corner of Oregon. He and his family move there, and a series of ominous events begin.

The trailer shows how Abbott transforms into a werewolf, and the sophisticated prosthetics used for close-up scenes. Director Leigh Whannell explains that the inspiration came from two timeless classics of the genre, The Fly and The Thing, which were made before the digital age, so all the spectacular tricks were – to use today’s trendy phrase – handmade solutions.
The female lead, Emmy Award-winning Julia Garner, talks about how shocking it was to watch Abbott’s complete transformation, which helped make her character’s terror real in front of the cameras.

The Wolfman has been receiving rave reviews from influencers and critics who have seen the film at previews. “Wolf Man is not only terrifying, but it’s also an emotional rollercoaster,” writes Tessa Smith of Mama’s Geeky. “There were scenes where I almost jumped out of my skin and burst into tears. The acting is great, and the cinematography is absolutely insane. When the camera goes into inside-out mode, it’s the height of horror. I loved it!”
Wolf Man is a deadly thrilling, super entertaining and sensitive modern retelling of the classic story,” says DiscussingFilm critic Andrew J. Salazar. “The infected werewolf design is perfect.” It’s a completely different story, but it’s immediately clear that this film was made by the same director who made the equally great “The Invisible Man.” (Wolf Man – domestic release: January 16, 2025)
