The Witcher 4 has been shrouded in controversy since its announcement. While the debut trailer and promising updates have generated excitement for the highly anticipated RPG, much of the conversation has focused on the appearance of Ciri. CD Projekt RED’s co-CEO recently addressed the speculation, confirming that Sweet Baby Inc. has no involvement in the project. He also pushed back against rumors suggesting the studio has lost a significant portion of its veteran developers.
The controversy stems from claims that CDPR has placed undue emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in The Witcher 4. However, Michal Nowakowski, the co-CEO, directly refuted these allegations. In a recent post on social media, he clarified that Sweet Baby Inc. has never been associated with the studio.
Why This Matters
arlier reports alleged that CDPR was struggling after losing key members of its development team and shifting focus to DEI initiatives. Nowakowski rejected these narratives, offering reassurance about the studio’s direction and capabilities.
“We’re not working with Sweet Baby. We hadn’t even heard of them until recently. And no, we haven’t lost our top talent either,”
said Nowakowski in a recent statement.
He further explained that over 100 experienced developers who worked on previous The Witcher titles are currently involved in shaping the studio’s future projects, including the next chapter of the acclaimed RPG series.
