Nintendo Switch 2: Is Its Reveal Coming Sooner Than Expected? [VIDEO]

NINTENDO NEWS – We’re also hearing that many of the biggest third-party developers are looking to support the next-gen platform from the big N.

In the video embedded below, Nate the Hate, a trusted insider, talks about how Nintendo will be releasing a trailer focusing on the Switch 2 hardware within the next few days. This will be followed by a software demonstration (Nintendo Switch 2 Direct?) that will arrive either in late February or early March. But when exactly will the trailer that could confirm the name of the Big N’s next platform be released?

“I can tell you that Nintendo Switch 2 will be revealed this week… I have been told that Switch 2 will be revealed on Thursday, January 16… just a few days from now. I’ve heard that the reveal itself will focus almost exclusively on the console itself. There will be no presence of games. There might be a game running on the screen, depending on how the trailer is put together, but software will not be a focus,” said Nate the Hate.

So a two-part presentation would follow what we’ve seen for the Nintendo Switch, and that’s what the VGC information points to. The Switch was first shown with a hardware-focused trailer in the fall of 2016, followed by a game reveal in January 2017, and here the big N mentioned games and release dates. Nintendo didn’t show any games in the first video, but it did run Super Mario Odyssey, for example. According to Nate the Hate, Switch 2 will be released in May or June, which would coincide with what VGC heard. The opening title could be a new Mario Kart, followed by a 3D Mario game over the holiday season (October-December).

According to the insider, Ubisoft will also support the Nintendo Switch 2, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be on the console’s line-up for the launch period. Assassin’s Creed Shadows will also make an appearance on the platform, but it won’t make its way to the Japanese company’s console until later. Ubisoft is said to have more than six games in the pipeline for the big N’s platform, and many of them will be such late ports. The Division and Rainbow Six Siege could also make an appearance. There has also been talk of a Mario + Rabbids collection, with both games available for the new hardware. The only question is when they will be released.

The other big backer according to Nate the Hate will be Konami. He says that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. The game doesn’t have a release date at the moment, but he doesn’t rule out the possibility that it will be released here at the same time as the other platforms, because if it’s coming in the summer, for example, he says there’s no reason why it shouldn’t be released on PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 at the same time.

But it’s not official yet!
