Grinding Gear Games has apologized for something that shouldn’t be apologized for, but we have to admit that it takes a long time to get a response from the studio’s customer service.
Grinding Gear Games has reduced the size of the mountain they face in customer service, but they still have a ton of sales to go. No wonder, as over 545,000 emails have been sent since the release of Path of Exile 2. The studio simply wasn’t prepared for an email bomb of this magnitude, and posted an announcement on Steam apologizing to affected users if they still haven’t heard back from the team:
“In the lead up to the launch of Path of Exile 2’s Early Access, we began to ramp up our customer support team. It quickly became apparent that our efforts were nowhere near enough, so we have since doubled the size of the team and are still hiring. The support team is responsible for not only email and private messages, but also in-game chat and forum moderation. All of this has been about 10 times busier than our previous busiest time,” Grinding Gear wrote in a Steam update.
Path of Exile 2 still has more than 290,000 concurrent players, and the more users, the more likely there are to be complaints. Grinding Gear Games has only 75,000 unresolved customer service complaints to date, and if you’re worried, don’t write them again because you’ll be pushed to the back of the queue and have to wait even longer.
“We really appreciate everyone’s patience while the support team has been working hard to process the requests we have received, and can assure you that we are increasing the number of support staff to ensure more timely responses in the future. You deserve better customer service than we’ve been able to provide despite our team’s best efforts, and we’re sorry,” Grinding Gear wrote.
