MOVIE NEWS – Bridget Jones films are known for their lighthearted humor and touching moments, blending rom-com antics with deeper themes. However, the upcoming Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, said to be the final installment, takes a slightly different tone.
Hugh Grant described the film as “hilarious and deeply sad.” Leo Woodall, who plays a new love interest for Bridget, elaborated to ScreenRant, saying, “Bridget is still adorable, funny, and quirky, but this film hits harder emotionally. It’s heartwarming and humorous while also deeply moving, full of raw emotions.”
In the fourth installment, Bridget is a widow after her husband Marc Darcy’s tragic death in Sudan. As a single mother of two, her friends encourage her to start dating again, which proves challenging for a woman in her fifties. Enter Roxter (Woodall), a dangerously handsome 29-year-old who makes Bridget question everything. Meanwhile, her son’s teacher, Mr. Wallaker (Chiwetel Ejiofor), emerges as another potential suitor. Naturally, Hugh Grant’s Daniel Cleaver is also back, ensuring that the story wouldn’t be complete without him.
