For fourteen years, team members worked on Blizzard Entertainment’s MMO, which is still running today, but they left to create a new fantasy world.
We saw Legacy: Steel and Sorcery at last year’s Steam Next Fest, and it was one of the most talked about titles there. It combines class-based multiplayer RPG progression and crafting with MMO PvP elements. It uses an external view and is set in a high fantasy world full of ogres, rogues, warriors, and wizards. It was in development before the extraction subgenre (missions usually end when you reach a certain point on the maps) exploded into the public consciousness, but it’s still capable of attracting attention.
Although it’s a multiplayer title, you’ll be able to play solo or in teams of three to explore the vast world of Mithrigarde. There will be plenty of combat, but the main goal in Legacy: Steel and Sorcery is to get your hands on the forgotten treasures and resources and get back to base without losing them. This is not going to be easy, of course, because there will be a lot of monsters trying to kill us, and we will have to fight the other teams because they will be looking for the same things we are.
Looting, leveling, combat, exploration, and PvP battles will all be MMO-like features. Technical feedback from early players will be taken into account by the developers, so there will be new character classes (Wizard, Paladin), maps, and game modes that will be introduced later in the game that we have not written about yet, which will follow a cautious release model.
In fact, Legacy: Steel and Socrery will be released in Early Access first, and we already know the price and release date. The early access period will start on February 12th, and you’ll be able to access the game from Notorious Studios for $25, which is quite a friendly price compared to its competitors.
