Resident Evil 9: Uncovering the Main Character – Can You Piece Together the Clues?

Although Capcom’s game hasn’t been announced yet, something might happen soon, as there are more and more signs that something is in the works…

A few days ago we reported what Dusk Golem/AestheticGamer had to say about the game. Then he mentioned a screenshot of what he wrote on Discord. That image has surfaced and can be seen below. On Twitter, he was asked why he said four years ago that Jill Valentine might appear in Resident Evil 9 or Resident Evil Outbreak (even though we’ve reported the opposite).

He said that it was true at the time, but that Capcom’s plans have changed since then. He doesn’t think it needs to be overcomplicated, and the insider believes that if Resident Evil 9 is released in the future, it wouldn’t be a big surprise to see Jill in the early concept art. So Jill was previously planned by the Japanese company, and later the main character was changed. But who will it be?

It’s clear that it’s Leon S. Kennedy. Nick Apostolides (who portrayed Leon in Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 4 Remake, and Resident Evil Infinite Darkness) has listed an unannounced AAA project on his website with the same description he used for his previous Leon roles. This can’t be a coincidence, nor can the fact that Resident Evil 9 director Kōshi Nakanishi follows Apostolides on Instagram. He doesn’t follow any other English-speaking Resident Evil voice actors, and the director has never worked with Apostolides before.

So from all this we can conclude that Leon S. Kennedy will be the protagonist of Resident Evil 9. Since he was last seen in Resident Evil 6 (Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil: Village put Ethan Winters in that position), it’s about time that he’s in the lead again.

But it’s not official!
