Nintendo Switch 2: Someone Got Disappointed by Lack of Surprises [VIDEO]

NINTENDO NEWS – The Japanese company has been a bit cautious about Nintendo’s next hardware launch, but it could be good for them in the long run.

Shuhei Yoshida, who previously ran the predecessor to PlayStation Studios and then served as Sony’s head of indie (and recently left the company after more than three decades, meaning he’s been with the company since the very first PlayStation), was interviewed by YouTube channel MinnMax. In the demonstration video, we saw the Joy-Con controllers, and Nintendo hinted that it would also be used as a mouse, but this has been rumored before and could also be said about the hybrid platform’s specifications.

“I thought the Nintendo Switch 2 announcement could have been a bigger reveal. I was surprised that there were not many surprises. The only surprise for me was the mouse thing that they showed. Well, I thought, you know, because the Switch 2 is more powerful and Call of Duty is coming, so people might want to play an FPS with mice, but hopefully because it’s Nintendo, they’ll use it in some weird, amazing way, something that people wouldn’t expect. So I’m hoping that at the next show, which is at the beginning of April, they’ll reveal something that’s still hidden from us about Nintendo Switch 2. A leak is really disappointing, even if it’s for another company, I feel very sorry when it happens. And as a person, I like to be surprised right, surprised, ‘wow’, so hopefully another leak won’t happen,” Yoshida said.

Nintendo has not yet said when the Switch 2 will be available, nor do we have any official information on pricing. The Japanese company will most likely reveal all of this during the Nintendo Direct for the platform on April 2. This is what the gaming industry is waiting for, because Grand Theft Auto VI in software and Nintendo Switch 2 in hardware will be the game that will rock the industry in 2025.
