This algorithm is ideal for securing communication between connected devices while enhancing security, optimizing performance, and minimizing data transmission.

NIST’s PQC standards protect a wide range of electronic information, from confidential emails to e-commerce transactions. For Samsung, these standards present an opportunity to safeguard cloud-based data against future quantum threats.

Samsung’s Strategic Approach

 

Committed to protecting user data, Samsung is integrating the Enhanced Data Protection (EDP) feature into its Samsung Knox Matrix system, which ensures the security of its connected device ecosystem in response to advancements in quantum computing.

The Enhanced Data Protection feature currently provides end-to-end encryption for user data when backing up, restoring, or synchronizing personal information via Samsung Cloud.

By incorporating PQC technology into the Knox Matrix system, Samsung is adding another layer of security, setting a new benchmark in cloud-based mobile data protection. The interoperability of Knox Matrix devices guarantees seamless quantum-secure protection for Samsung Cloud backups and synchronized data, accessible across smartphones, TVs, and digital appliances.

This feature will debut with the Galaxy S25 series—the first devices running One UI 7—offering Galaxy users enhanced security against quantum computing threats.
