We can expect a PlayStation 5 exclusive from Kojima Productions at SXSW 2025, where we’ll hear more information about the Death Stranding sequel.

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Kojima Productions have announced that there will be a PlayStation Presents Death Stranding 2: On the Beach special panel at SXSW 2025. This will take place on March 9th at 2pm Pacific Time. Of course, Hideo Kojima will be at the event to reveal more new details about the sequel to the story of Sam “Porter” Bridges. This will also be streamed over the Internet, but for now we will have to wait for the links, as the announcement reminds us to be patient.

Kojima Productions will also be hosting an exclusive pop-up shop at SXSW, featuring the latest Death Stranding 2: On the Beach merchandise, as well as exclusive items that will only be available at SXSW. More information about the pop-up shop will be confirmed soon. So those who buy them at the event will be able to get some very valuable items, but again, we’ll have to wait for more details.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach embarks on an inspiring mission of human connection beyond the UCA. Sam – with companions by his side – embarks on a new journey to save humanity from extinction. Join them as they traverse a world beset by alien enemies, obstacles, and the haunting question: should we have connected? The game sees the return of Norman Reedus, Lea Seydoux and Troy Baker, joined by Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna and Academy Award-winning director George Miller.

Launched in 1987, SXSW has become a global phenomenon. The nine-day event brings together the best and brightest in technology, film, music and beyond. The event features keynote speeches, conference sessions, film screenings, music performances, and interactive media exhibits, so it seems Sony is serious about opening up to a wider audience.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is coming to PlayStation 5 later this year.
