Next month, several big-name titles will be leaving PlayStation Plus. Among them are Life is Strange, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Street Fighter, and Mortal Kombat titles.
First up, Life is Strange: True Colors and Life is Strange 2 are on the chopping block. These two standout entries in Square Enix’s narrative-driven series tell powerful stories—one about an Asian-American woman with empathic psychic abilities, the other about two Hispanic brothers on the run after one of them develops telekinetic powers. Fans of the series should also check out Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, the first episode of which is now available on PlayStation Plus.
The Resident Evil 3 remake is also leaving. While it doesn’t quite match the brilliance of the Resident Evil 2 remake, it’s still an intense experience worth playing, especially for those following Jill Valentine’s arc. Meanwhile, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD tells the story of Class Zero, a group of twelve elite students defending their homeland from an invading empire—an excellent pick for those who enjoy Persona-style RPGs.
Although Street Fighter 5 and Mortal Kombat 11 have been surpassed by their successors, Street Fighter 6 and Mortal Kombat 1, both remain solid fighting games worth checking out. For anime fans, Bandai Namco’s Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a must-play, as it faithfully recreates Goku’s legendary journey.
