Game of Thrones Open-World RPG Arrives – Free Demo Launching on PC! [VIDEO]

In just a few days, you can try the highly ambitious Game of Thrones: Kingsroad RPG for free on PC. Following its January beta, Netmarble has now confirmed the arrival of a demo, alongside potential console versions in the future.

Despite being one of the most expensive and recognizable fantasy franchises in history, Game of Thrones has had little success in the gaming world. While twelve different titles have been released across various genres, none have truly delivered what fans have been craving—a vast open-world RPG filled with choice and freedom. That, however, could change with the arrival of Game of Thrones: Kingsroad. Netmarble’s ambitious RPG, set in Westeros, made a strong impression with its beta, and now players can experience it firsthand thanks to its newly announced demo.

Create Your Own Character in Westeros

In Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, players take on the role of the heir to House Tyre, a lesser noble family created exclusively for the game. Set in the North, House Tyre must navigate both internal strife and external threats as players engage in political maneuvering and face dangers beyond the Wall. For now, three character classes are available: Sellsword, Knight, and Assassin, each offering unique abilities, backgrounds, and playstyles.

The Demo Goes Live in Just a Few Days

The game presents a surprisingly strong narrative that has caught players off guard. Following a successful beta, Netmarble has launched a Steam page for Kingsroad and confirmed the upcoming demo. It will be available starting January 24 at 08:00 (Spanish time), and for now, it appears to be exclusive to Steam, though no official confirmation has been provided.

The demo allows players to embark on the game’s first quests, interact with key characters such as Jon Snow, Cersei Lannister, and Jaime Lannister, and explore some of Westeros’ most iconic locations. Character customization will also be available, letting players fine-tune their hero’s appearance and background.

Netmarble has emphasized that this demo is just a preview, with the full game offering an expanded map, deeper storylines, and more quests. The developers have also hinted at potential console versions in the future, though for now, the game is set to launch on PC and mobile sometime in 2025, with an exact release date yet to be confirmed.
