Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: Is It Too Sharp, Not Just in Hardware?

TECH NEWS – Last year’s top model of the South Korean company caused surprising problems for its users…

One of the problems with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra was its design: it was uncomfortable to hold because of its sharp edges. Samsung noticed this, and for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, released this year, the design was slightly modified, with rounded edges that made it easier to hold. However, not everyone has upgraded from the S24 Ultra to this year’s model, so they have to deal with this sharp design, which can be very uncomfortable in the long run. But if that was the only problem, it wouldn’t be in the news. So what’s wrong with the S24 Ultra? This will come as a bit of a surprise…

If the public had switched to this year’s phone, some users wouldn’t have ripped their pants off because the S25 Ultra is less angular. On Reddit, you can read how frustrated a user was with the Tavay smartphone. Some blamed the thin, flimsy fabric case, but others reported similar experiences. For this reason, it is no coincidence that some have suggested that those affected use a case with rounded edges, which is indeed a more comfortable solution.

Darn these sharp edges lol.

The Samsung case shows that the ergonomics of a device is not a negligible factor. If the phone is uncomfortable in the hand, it will be a nuisance in the long run, if it is angular, the pocket might need some sewing. The South Korean company probably didn’t expect the Galaxy S24 Ultra to be so popular, but it’s still a very successful and powerful smartphone. Some people have a more serious reason for not switching: the style of the S Pen just doesn’t fit this year’s model.

The lesson is that phone makers should not make square half bricks, because in the long run, it hurts more than it helps. Design cannot be neglected, and manufacturers know this (and of course larger companies like Apple).
