God of War: Exciting Rumors About Upcoming Remasters!

The modernization of Kratos’ Greek story may not be just a rumor, but we’re still a long way from official confirmation from Sony.

According to a credible insider, the long-rumored God of War remasters will be announced by Sony sometime in March, I believe the God of War franchise will celebrate its 20th anniversary in March 2025, and developer Santa Monica Studio will celebrate with a special surprise to give veteran fans something to cheer about. Rumors of a remastered collection of Greek God of War games have been popping up here and there since late 2024.

We first heard that the announcement would be made during The Game Awards 2024 in December, but that never happened. As a result, fans speculated that the earlier God of War titles might be coming to PlayStation Plus Premium, rather than remasters. Then, in early February, another rumor claimed that God of War remasters would show up at State of Play in February 2025, but that didn’t happen either, and fans of the franchise started to become less optimistic.

Enter renowned industry insider Jeff Grubb, who has rekindled hope. BlueSkyon’s Grubb claims that earlier rumors of God of War remasters were a bit premature, and that he believes they will be unveiled at the same time as the 20th anniversary exhibition that is popping up at Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, California. The show is scheduled for March 15-23. Grubb has been historically accurate about many PlayStation-related rumors in the past, and another insider, Tom Henderson, recently claimed that the next God of War game could return to Greece and feature a younger Kratos.

Aside from the three main God of War games, there are also a couple of PSP spin-offs and a prequel story called God of War: Ascension from 2013. At best, this package would be a remastered collection of all six Greek God of War games. But we don’t know that yet, so none of this is official!
