NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games will add another DLC character to the latest installment of Mortal Kombat, along with the arrival of a new Kameo fighter.
Featuring the voice and likeness of actor Robert Patrick, the liquid metal-based cybernetic assassin from 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day utilizes a deadly moveset that allows the advanced prototype to shape-shift and organically form stabbing weapons. The video also offers a glimpse of Madam Bo, a new downloadable content Kameo Fighter who can assist in combat with a variety of support moves.
The new trailer was premiered at Pro Competition Mexico, the inaugural event for the Mortal Kombat 1: Season 2 in Mexico City. The new season of the global eSports program featuring Mortal Kombat 1 features a total prize pool of $255,000 USD with a variety of live in-person events across North America, Latin America, South America and Europe, as well as multiple online tournaments.
Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns is a new expansion for Mortal Kombat 1, the latest installment in the acclaimed Mortal Kombat video game franchise developed by award-winning NetherRealm Studios. Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns is now available digitally for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), and includes a story expansion featuring playable fighters Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, Conan the Barbarian, and T-1000 Terminator (March 18), as well as Madam Bo Kameo Fighter (March 18).
The T-1000 will join the Mortal Kombat 1 roster on March 18th as part of the Early Access period for Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns Expansion owners, followed by general availability on March 25th. The Madam Bo Kameo Fighter will be available to all Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns owners on March 18th as a free content update or as a standalone purchase.
With all this in mind, when will NetherRealm and Warner think about developing Injustice 3? So far, the studio has been alternating between Mortal Kombat and Injustice. Perhaps the team will return to the DC Universe in time.
