Fable: Microsoft Drops the Bomb – Major Delay Announced!

Xbox has officially confirmed that Fable, the highly anticipated RPG from the creators of Forza Horizon, will no longer be launching in 2025. Fans will have to wait until 2026 for the return of the legendary franchise.

Playground Games has requested additional development time for Fable, prompting Xbox to announce a delay for the much-awaited fantasy RPG. To soften the blow, Microsoft shared new images and snippets of gameplay, offering a glimpse into the breathtaking world of Albion.

The announcement was made in the latest episode of the Official Xbox Podcast, where Craig Duncan, head of Xbox Game Studios, provided an update on the company’s upcoming projects. “First of all, we’re incredibly excited about the progress being made. We previously announced a 2025 release date for Fable, but we’ve decided to give the game more time, pushing its launch to 2026.”

“I know this may not be the news people wanted to hear, but I can assure you that it will be worth the wait. I have complete confidence in the Playground team. If you look at their history with Forza Horizon, the last two entries received critical acclaim. Now, imagine their talent applied to Fable—gorgeous visuals, engaging gameplay, witty English humor, and a fresh take on Albion that stays true to the franchise’s roots.”

Alongside the delay, Xbox released new images showcasing the stunning environments being crafted by Playground Games. “Honestly, this is the most beautifully realized version of Albion we’ve ever seen. We’re truly excited about the journey ahead, and we want the community to understand that these delays are necessary to deliver the best possible experience.”

“It felt amazing, and I had an incredible time playing it”

Fans will need to stay tuned for future Xbox events to get a deeper look at Fable’s gameplay and mechanics. Duncan teased further excitement, stating: “I played through some city exploration, quests, combat sequences, a boss fight, and even used magic… It felt amazing, and I had an incredible time.”
