What Good is Live-Action How to Train Your Dragon?

MOVIE NEWS – Ever since the live-action How to Train Your Dragon trailer was released during the Super Bowl halftime break, fans have been debating why the hit animated film had to be reshot with actors, when the trailer seems to show almost the same thing as the original. What’s more, the director hasn’t changed either, with Dean Deblois directing, who is clearly capable of delivering the same quality as last time.

The emphasis is on “almost,” Deblois is quoted as saying by ScreenRant. The story hasn’t really been rewritten for the current live-action version, meaning there are no new characters, no more adventures, no more locations, and no alternate endings. The difference lies in the details. The characters and their motivations became more nuanced, the plot was better developed, and the aesthetics of the animated films were converted according to the visual requirements of the existing world. Deblois also revealed that DreamWorks entrusted him with the remake because he is the one who knows what had to be left out of the animated version, which could very well be included in the live-action version.
