Planet Coaster 2: Frontier’s Game Will Expand Massively This Spring! [VIDEO]

Planet Coaster 2 has had its fair share of problems since its release in October, but it looks like that era is over as plans are underway for this spring.

Post-launch support for the theme park-building sequel has been steady. In January, an improved waterslide simulation of the brand new waterslides was released, while in February, players can create their own custom commercials. The next update, coming later this month, will offer even more flexibility in building slides. The third update adds variety to the way guests and rafts move on special slide pieces, improves the appearance of guests falling off slides, and adds inflatable deformation so rafts can bend and flap in believable ways as they slide down the slide. It also adds round-bottom slides.

April’s fourth update brings a brand new feature to Planet Coaster 2’s restaurants. Not only can you add smaller food stalls, but you can also build full restaurants that can accommodate the needs and tolerances of more guests. Visitors will buy food and drink separately from the stalls, and since the definition is not very clear yet, they might get both at the same time during a meal in a restaurant, which could be an incentive to build a more complex eatery.

Both updates also bring new tracks to Planet Coaster 2. The March update will add the Vector Inverted Suspension Coaster to the plethora of coasters, while the April update will add an as-yet-unnamed coaster to the restaurants. The March update will also mark the return of the Western Park theme from the dusty plains of obscurity, allowing you to build a rooted, geared, coaster-shooting park similar to the original Planet Coaster. Both updates will also include “continuous” improvements to performance, stability and economy management, as well as more specific parts of the simulation (such as the number of people riding the coaster).

In the video embedded below, the developers talk in more detail about the Planet Coaster 2 updates. There will be more changes and new content in May, but we don’t know anything about it yet.
