iPhone 17 Pro Max: A New Name for This Year’s Flagship Model?

TECH NEWS – This year’s flagship iPhone from the Cupertino company may not only change its name, but also its thickness, according to rumors.

Apple may make several significant changes with the iPhone 17 lineup. First, there could be the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air, and later the other models, of which the top model, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, could get a new name. This scheme has been used by the Cupertino company for years, but according to a rumor, the new name for the top model will be iPhone 17 Ultra, in which some notable innovations could come to users.

Yeux1122 on Naver shared a few things about this year’s top model. These were gathered from Taiwanese Weibo accounts (Weibo is supposed to be the Chinese Twitter replacement). These accounts listed the changes regarding the iPhone 17 Pro Max under US investment report content, supply chain trend source summary. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about the name change, as Bloomberg editor Mark Gurman said back in 2022 that the iPhone 15 Pro Max could be called the iPhone 15 Ultra…

Gurman was recently a guest on a podcast where they discussed Apple’s upcoming new products. Based on some speculation, Gurman stated that Apple’s first foldable iPhone could be called the iPhone Ultra, as it could be the ultimate representation of the company’s efforts to go beyond the traditional smartphone form factor and make it accessible to the masses. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumored to have a smaller Dynamic Island, resulting in an increased screen-to-body ratio. The battery chamber innovation may also appear on the iPhone 17 Pro. This should allow the A19 Pro system-on-a-chip (SoC) to deliver optimal performance. The phone might be a little thicker, but the battery might be bigger. Since this phone isn’t even trying to compete with the iPhone 17 Pro Air, thickness isn’t really an issue.

So Apple may continue to make refined design changes to the Pro models, but we have to add that these are just rumors, so it’s not official!
