NVIDIA Slashes RTX 5000 Prices in Europe – But There’s a Catch

TECH NEWS – NVIDIA has great news for gamers looking to buy an RTX 5000: thanks to a stronger euro, prices are coming down. However, stock remains limited, making availability an issue.

NVIDIA’s RTX 5000 series has taken major strides in AI-powered gaming, introducing technologies like DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation that deliver ultra-high frame rates with virtually no visual downgrade. However, its release has been met with two major issues: sky-high prices and a severe lack of availability. This has left many eager buyers frustrated as they struggle to get their hands on the latest GPUs.

According to The Verge, NVIDIA has now reduced prices on its RTX 5000 graphics cards in Europe, bringing some relief to those hoping to upgrade. The key reason behind this adjustment is the stronger exchange rate of the euro against the US dollar, which allows NVIDIA to pass on savings to consumers. Thanks to this, the top-tier models, the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, are seeing a 4% price cut.

As a result, the RTX 5090 has dropped from €2,329 to €2,229, while the RTX 5080 is now €1,119 after a €50 reduction. Among the mid-range options, only the RTX 5070 has received a price drop, now available for €619 after a €30 discount. Meanwhile, the RTX 5070 Ti remains unchanged at €879. These price cuts, however, won’t be immediately noticeable, as retailers are still struggling with low stock levels. This means that, for now, the GPUs may still be priced higher than they should be.

NVIDIA Boasts Record RTX 5000 Sales

Despite stock shortages, NVIDIA recently revealed that its RTX 5000 lineup has significantly outsold the previous generation. Over a five-week period, the latest GPUs have reportedly sold twice as many units as the RTX 4000 series did in the same timeframe. However, this comparison comes with a caveat—the only RTX 4000 GPU available at launch was the high-end RTX 4090, making direct comparisons somewhat misleading. Even so, the demand for the RTX 5000 series remains incredibly high, and availability issues are expected to persist in the coming months.
