MOVIE NEWS – Christopher Landon is already one of the most talked-about names in Hollywood when it comes to reinventing the horror/thriller genre, and his reputation will only grow if his calculations work out.

The writer-director’s latest work, Date with a Killer, received positive reviews after it was shown at a festival before its wide release. Landon combines Hitchcockian suspense with a satirical critique of modern technology, and according to initial reports, he does it so masterfully that no nail is left unbitten in the audience.

The heroine of Date with a Killer is a young mother, Violet (Meghann Fahy), who goes on her first date to a fancy restaurant after losing her husband. Her romantic encounter with a dangerously handsome man (Brandon Sklenar) is ruined when Violet begins receiving messages on her phone in which an unknown person threatens to kill her young son who stays at home and his sister who is looking after him if she does not follow his instructions. Unexpected situations follow one another at lightning speed, and it is not ruled out that Henry, sitting across the table, has something to do with the messages…

ScreenRant welcomes Landon’s new potential blockbuster and continues to weave the threads in accordance with the genre’s requirements. It is suggested that following the success of Date with a Killer, Landon could be given a free hand in Hollywood and realize his long-cherished project, Happy Death Day 3, thus putting the crown on the previous two highly successful opuses, which he also made.
