The C64 is now known only to an older generation, and now nearly a dozen games are making the jump from that platform to most current generation platforms.

This legendary collection features 10 hand-picked classics from the Commodore 64 era of the 1980s, as well as a phenomenal trove of bonus material for fans of game preservation and curious gamers alike. Featuring 10 blast from the past games first released by Cosmi over 30 years ago, Cosmi: Forbidden Forests has something for everyone, from pick-up-and-play shooters and platformers to adventures and simulations with surprising depth. Search for fabled treasure in Caverns of Khafka (1983), break out of your fish tank in Chomp! (1989), and escape a toxic post-apocalyptic Chicago in the year 2027 in Delta Man (1986).

Headlining the collection is a remastered version of Forbidden Forest, featuring not only all-new graphics and audio, but also an optional Bardcore visual toggle that lets you go medieval. Armed with a bow and a limited number of arrows, you will hunt down giant spiders, freaky frogs, dragons, snakes, and even the Demogorgon, either in the original style envisioned by master game designer Paul Norman, or in the new art style that looks straight out of a 14th-century tapestry.

Additionally, Cosmi: Forbidden Forests comes with redesigned box art, archival material, and original digital comics from the minds of Ideas&Inks, the team led by Marvel and DC Comics veterans Ant Williams and Andy Lanning. Together with a phenomenally talented group of writers, artists and letterers, the worlds of the Forbidden Forest and the Caverns of Khafka come to life in two terrifying stories collected as Digital Dreams and 8-Bit Nightmares.

There are features that would have seemed miraculous at the time of the games’ original release; with the power of the Arsenal Engine, you can now save your game or rewind challenging sections to try again! Cosmi: Forbidden Forest will be released on May 27th for PlayStation 5, PC (Steam, GOG) and Nintendo Switch. It is being developed by Empty Clip Studios and published by Ziggurat Interactive.
