NINTENDO NEWS – Not every Switch 2 upgrade will cost you. A selection of backwards compatible titles will get free performance boosts—including Pokémon Scarlet, Super Mario Odyssey, and more. Here’s the full list of games that are getting better without touching your wallet.
As part of the Nintendo Switch 2’s launch, players can expect a wide variety of backwards compatibility options. Some titles will return as paid “Switch 2 Editions,” offering enhanced visuals and performance for a fee. Others, however, will run straight out of the box—and a lucky few will receive free next-gen updates to take advantage of the console’s upgraded hardware.
According to Nintendo’s official website, “By connecting your Nintendo Switch 2 to the internet, you can download free updates that can improve performance or add support for features like GameShare in certain games. The content of these free updates will vary from game to game.”
