The Last of Us – HBO Confirms Season 3 Ahead of Season 2 Premiere

MOVIE REVIEW – Even though the highly anticipated second season of The Last of Us is set to debut on April 14, HBO has already officially greenlit a third season. The decision follows continued critical acclaim and strong anticipation from audiences, with the creators promising another compelling continuation.

Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President of HBO Programming, commented on the renewal: “It’s impossible to overstate how proud we are of the extraordinary work that has gone into season two of The Last of Us. Craig, Neil, Carolyn, the executive producers, cast, and crew have created something masterful, and we’re thrilled to continue this journey into what promises to be an equally emotional and exceptional third season.”

Craig Mazin, co-creator, executive producer, writer, and director of the series, added: “We approached season two with the goal of creating something truly meaningful. The final result surpassed even our most ambitious expectations, thanks to the unwavering collaboration with HBO and the exceptional efforts of our cast and crew. We can’t wait to carry the story forward into season three.”

Neil Druckmann, also co-creator, executive producer, writer, and director, shared his thoughts: “Seeing The Last of Us brought to life so beautifully and true to its original vision has been one of the highlights of my career. I’m deeply grateful for the overwhelming support from fans. Much of this success is thanks to my creative partner Craig Mazin, our collaboration with HBO, and the incredible team at PlayStation Productions. On behalf of everyone at Naughty Dog, the cast, and the crew—thank you for making this possible. We’re excited to explore even more of this world in the next chapter.”
