Welcome to Brightwille: a Kazakh-Developed Mana-Punk Immersive Simulator! [VIDEO]

Contrast Games’ game is inspired by Atomic Heart, System Shock and BioShock, so it’s an interesting concept.

Welcome to Brightville is an action-adventure immersive simulation in which you play as a unique automaton guardian. You will explore the mysterious city of Brightville, where magic and steampunk technology collide! You play as an automaton, unaffected by the influence of the AI that controls the city of Brightville. Navigate a world where magic and technology collide! Experiment with abilities, interact with characters, and adapt to an environment that reacts to your choices. Whether you engage in combat, explore the hidden depths of the city, or unravel the mysteries of your own existence, every action you take shapes the world around you.

Environments react to your actions, giving you multiple ways to approach combat scenarios. Meet unique NPCs with motivations and storylines that evolve based on your choices. Use stealth, combat, or manipulation to navigate Brightville’s challenges. Your arsenal consists of offensive and defensive magic spells that can be combined to create devastating effects and manipulate the environment. From elemental explosions to intricate spell interactions, combat is fast, dynamic, and highly customizable.

Welcome to Brightville blends industrial Victorian architecture, neo-baroque extravagance, and futuristic cyberpunk elements. Dark fantasy themes permeate the environment, creating a “mana-punk” world where magic powers machines and the fate of the city teeters on the brink of destruction. Music is woven into the core of Brightville’s world. Action is punctuated by the soundtrack, making combat and movement feel fluid and immersive. Characters sing, adding musical elements to the story. A fully orchestrated soundscape, created by professional musicians, breathes life into every moment.

According to Contrast Games, the goal is to create an immersive simulator that truly responds to the player, not only mechanically, but also emotionally. They’ve combined magic with exploration and musical storytelling in an experimental way without ignoring the traditions of the genre in Welcome to Brightville, which will be released in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC.

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
