Atomfall: Another Milestone for Rebellion’s UK Fallout Clone!

Rebellion’s game has reached even more players, and there’s a lot of interest in the post-apocalyptic adventure set in the United Kingdom.

Rebellion (who not only developed Atomfall, but also published it) has announced that their new adventure set in foggy Albion has attracted over 2 million players in its first month. The company has shared some more in-game stats to show us what people are particularly drawn to in Atomfall, and there are some surprising results in the accompanying chart.

Our first encounter in the game is with an injured scientist. 59.3% of the audience rescued him, 21.6% threatened him, and 19.3% killed him. More than 500,000 cups of tea have been consumed, more than 3.6 million comic books have been found, more than 250,000 pints of beer have been ordered, more than 5.9 million opponents have been killed with a cricket bat, 420,000 people have been killed by a swarm of rats, and even the top three favorite foods (tinned meat leads with 14.1 million, followed by bread with 8.4 million, and pasty (a popular Cornish pie) is third with 7.6 million). What to do when you’re hungry?

Atomfall surpassed 1.5 million players on its opening weekend, so it’s no surprise that it reached well over 2 million players in its first month of release. There’s a little trick to it. It could be more if they didn’t push Denuvo DRM on PC (Rebellion doesn’t tend to remove it from their games either), and they achieved this result because Atomfall is on Xbox Game Pass from launch day, so subscribers to the Redmond tech giant’s service can access the game at no extra cost.

Still, it’s a fair result, and it rivals Fallout: London, which is also set in the UK, although it’s a full conversion mod, not a new game.
