Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era: Ubisoft Is Working on HoMM Again! [VIDEO]

Of course, the turn-based strategy for the new Heroes of Might and Magic is not being developed by Ubisoft, but by Unfrozen.

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is a new installment in the renowned series of turn-based strategy games, set in Enroth, on the continent of Jadame, which has been mentioned but never explored in a Heroes of Might and Magic game. Traverse a vibrant and living fantasy world (Enroth) full of wonders and dangers, build magnificent capital cities, raise massive armies, and engage in epic, highly tactical battles between heroes and mythical creatures. Play solo with a new campaign, multiple single maps, and endless randomly generated scenarios, or engage in a battle of wits and magic with other players – rivals or allies – in multiplayer mode. You can also create your own story with the Map Editor tool, which you can share with the world or keep for yourself. Enjoy the challenge whether you are a Heroes of Might and Magic veteran or a newcomer to the series and the turn-based strategy genre.

An epic campaign takes place on the mysterious continent of Jadame, where rival factions must forge fragile alliances to face the Hive – a swarm of insectoids corrupted by an Inferno Demon Lord hell-bent on subjugating the world. Choose from a roster of unique factions, a mix of returning fan favorites and brand new creations, each with its own unique gameplay style, creatures and heroes, and unique faction abilities: Temple (classic humans), Necropolis (undead and vampires), Sylvan (forces of nature and pagans), Dungeon (dark elves and underground creatures), Hive (demonic insectoids), and a mysterious sixth faction to be revealed later.

There are three main multiplayer game modes: Classic (a player can play with one or more heroes, upgrade the castle and explore the map), One-Hero Mode (a Blitz-like system, but you only have one hero, so their demise is also yours), Arena (create a hero, upgrade him, choose your troops and challenge the enemy immediately). Immerse yourself in the epic non-linear single-player campaign to shape the history of Jadame and seal the fate of its heroes and kingdoms. Traverse the global map to gather resources and grow stronger. Upgrade your castle and expand your kingdom. Faction laws help bring uniqueness and diversity to the player’s play style. There is a traditional hexagonal battlefield with an orthographic camera. Active abilities are available for creatures and heroes. Matchmaking, ratings, and rankings are separate for all modes. Revised artificial intelligence and multiple difficulty levels ensure a constant and customized challenge for every type of player.

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is coming to PC this summer via Early Access. The Early Access release will include core game mechanics and a significant amount of content planned for the full release. This period will last approximately one year, and when the full version is released, it will offer more content, refined game mechanics, improved visuals, and an overall more polished experience.
