MOVIE NEWS – Netflix has announced a fresh wave of actors joining the cast of The Witcher for its fourth and fifth seasons. With Henry Cavill stepping down after Season 3, Liam Hemsworth is set to take over the role of Geralt of Rivia. Despite the show’s popularity, many fans of the original books remain critical of its deviations from the source material — and the latest casting decisions may only deepen that frustration.
The latest casting scoop comes from Redanian Intelligence, confirming that eight new actors will appear in the final two seasons of The Witcher. Among the most recognizable additions are Camilla Beeput (Dune: Prophecy), Liv Andrushier (A Play in a Day), and Laurie Duncan (Warfare), all of whom are expected to appear in Season 5. The specifics of their roles have yet to be disclosed.
Season 4 will feature Summar Mackenzie, Yolanda Quartey, and Farah Ashraf, although Netflix has not released any information about their characters either. What has stirred the most buzz, however, are the last two casting reveals. Patrice Naiambana (House of the Dragon) will portray a character named Lupus in Season 4 — a role created exclusively for the series with no basis in the books, comics, or games. The name suggests a possible werewolf connection, though no official description has been provided.
The other original addition is Vifindir, played by Adam Trussell (Vikings: Bloodlust). Though speculation is rampant, nothing concrete has been confirmed. Some fans believe Vifindir could hail from the Skellige Isles, while others suggest the character might be an elf linked to the guerrilla faction known as the Squirrels.
While Netflix’s adaptation of The Witcher has often divided viewers, the series has built a loyal fanbase and remains one of the platform’s most-watched shows. Season 4 is currently in post-production, and although there’s no confirmed release date, it’s likely to premiere sometime in late 2025 or early 2026.
All eyes are now on Liam Hemsworth and whether he can fill the boots of Henry Cavill, who defined the role for many fans. A brief teaser has offered a first look at Hemsworth’s take on Geralt, but viewers are still waiting for a full trailer to properly gauge his performance. Meanwhile, production on Season 5 is already underway, ensuring no delays as the story moves toward its conclusion.
