Following the growing popularity of DeepSeek, the company behind ChatGPT has taken an aggressive approach, recently introducing GPT-4.1 and working on advanced reasoning models. Now, OpenAI is reportedly working on a new social media platform that could have a Twitter-like format.
OpenAI has undoubtedly revolutionized artificial intelligence and the potential of the technology, and its ambitious approach continues to emphasize that the company’s goal is to expand into multiple areas. So far, we have heard that they are working on new AI agents and advanced reasoning models, but now we are hearing from multiple sources that a Twitter-like social media platform is in the pipeline. Altman is reportedly asking people for advice on the platform. While it’s unclear whether OpenAI will launch the social feed as part of ChatGPT or as a separate app, the company’s pivot in this direction could change the way content is consumed online. OpenAI has not made an official statement about the ongoing development, nor has it confirmed the project. But if the platform does launch, it could not only change the dynamics of the market, but also intensify the rivalry with Musk. He had previously offered to buy OpenAI for $97.4 billion, to which Altman responded that they would buy Twitter for $9.74 billion…
If OpenAI moves in this direction, it would increase user engagement and could be a significant step in the development of AI, as others in the industry also benefit from the real-time information generated by users to train their AI models. For the company, having access to user-generated content could be a big advantage, as it could further help its models.
