Cronos: The New Dawn: Bloober Team’s New Game Shows Gameplay! [VIDEO]

After Silent Hill 2 Remake, the public is showing more interest in Bloober Team, and the new survival horror takes on a big task.

Set in two time periods – the bleak ruins of a post-apocalyptic future as well as 1980s Poland – Cronos: The New Dawn plunges players into the decaying district of New Dawn, inspired by the real-life Nowa Huta. You play as a Traveler, an agent of the mysterious Collective, who emerges from a dystopian future to travel back in time and rescue key people before they perish in the apocalypse. As you explore a world on the brink of annihilation, you’ll encounter grotesque foes known as the Orphans – twisted, body-horror monstrosities born from humanity’s darkest nightmares.

The tagline “Don’t Let Them Merge” points to one of the game’s core mechanics: downed enemies don’t stay dead for long! If you don’t burn their bodies, these fallen monsters can be absorbed by existing enemies. Through a grotesque process known as merging, enemies evolve into faster, stronger, more resilient, and far more terrifying abominations, gaining additional abilities in battle.

In addition to the newly revealed combat system, Cronos: The New Dawn showcases many upcoming and exciting features. Players will get a sneak peek at the game’s ferocious weapons and terrifying new enemies, all set against a backdrop of Brutalist architecture falling apart, twisted by the anomalies that are warping reality itself. There are also glimpses of enigmatic new characters, all with their own agendas and hidden secrets. Cronos: The New Dawn promises a story filled with cryptic mysteries and a creeping sense of dread that won’t let up.

Adding to the suspense is the game’s soundtrack, created by award-winning composer Arkadiusz Reikowski. The result of a collaboration between Arkadiusz and Polish-Ukranian indie folk band Zazula, this track in particular features haunting traditional vocals, creating an ethereal soundscape that blends synth horror with surreal, avant-garde textures. The result is a score as eerie and immersive as the world you’re about to explore.

Cronos: The New Dawn is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC later this year.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title.
