Kingdom Come: Deliverance Creator Wants to Use AI in Future Games – Before He Dies!

Dan Vávra wants to make more use of AI in his future projects before he retires.

He has been a well-known developer for more than two decades and was involved with the first Mafia game. He then directed the first and second parts of Kingdom Come: Deliverance. In an interview with The Game Business, he revealed that game development had caused health problems and made him wonder how many more projects he would be able to complete in his career. He hopes AI will speed up development rather than replace humans.

“I had some serious health issues from all the stress. I really need to slow down a bit. It annoys me that games take so much time because I have more ideas than time. There are a couple of projects that I would love to work on. I would love to prepare them properly so that things are not so chaotic. I hope the AI revolution will help with this. In the future, we won’t be replaced by AI; we’ll be helped by it. Many things could become easier and faster. It would be great if this happened. I have a few big ideas that will require a lot of time and preparation. These projects have as much potential as Kingdom Come: Deliverance,” said Vávra.

As in other creative industries, generative AI, which creates content, has become a hot topic in the gaming industry. Many are concerned that it could lead to job losses and widespread plagiarism. Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two, recently said that he believes AI will not lead to job losses but could lead to increased employment. He also said that he cannot imagine the new safeguards needed to protect developers. Josef Fares, director of Split Fiction and It Takes Two, said he believes developers should work with AI rather than against it.
