Raw Fury doesn’t want Virtuos’ Unreal Engine 5 project to make the public completely forget about their game.
The publisher that unwittingly released its game on the same day as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is getting another chance. Sweden’s Raw Fury released their puzzle horror game Post Trauma last week, a tribute to classic PS1 and PS2 era survival horror titles. Unfortunately, Post Trauma was released on April 22nd, the same day that Bethesda suddenly decided to release a modernized version of Oblivion. We’ve already reported that the game was played by over 4 million people… and the result was that Post Trauma’s audience was nowhere near that size.
Raw Fury has posted a powerful video on Twitter claiming that it will “re-release” Post Trauma on June 23, but won’t stop selling it until then. The “new” version of the game will also be jokingly called Post Trauma: The Re-Release – except we’re not releasing it first, and it’s pretty much the same, and has been promoted by Raw Fury with the hashtag #PleaseNoShadowDropThisTime.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will be spiritually re-releasing Post Trauma in about 8.5 weeks, which is a completely random number we picked. There will be giveaways, streams, and celebrations on this spiritual re-release day, so make sure you’re there. As soon as you finish playing The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, of course,” says a Raw Fury employee in the video below. Sitting next to her PC, she can be seen looking up how long it takes to beat the Oblivion remaster.
“In Post Trauma, players control Roman (Togo Igawa), a tormented train conductor who wakes up after a terrible panic attack to find himself in a surreal dimension. Faced with horrific architecture and nightmarish abominations, Roman can choose to defend himself with an array of weapons or take the path of least resistance. Inspired by key staples of the survival horror genre, Post Trauma blends fixed camera angles with stunning visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5 to create a truly unsettling yet familiar horror experience. But just when you think you have the answers, this hellscape changes the questions as you enter the unknown to face your greatest fears,” reads the game’s description.
