After last week’s release delay, Rockstar has made it up to fans with a brand-new GTA VI trailer showcasing more of the story, characters, and Vice City vibes.
A few days after Rockstar Games confirmed the GTA VI launch was pushed from late 2025 to May 26, 2026, the company unexpectedly dropped a second trailer for the game, giving us a better look at the main characters and narrative.
As teased in the earlier leak-turned-official trailer from two years ago, the game is set in a modern-day Vice City, and players will control Jason and Lucia, a criminal duo reminiscent of Bonnie and Clyde. Lucia, recently released from prison, reunites with Jason—and their first move is a chaotic romantic getaway followed by criminal mischief that quickly spirals out of control.
The trailer kicks off with Jason’s daily life before cutting to a prison visit where he picks up Lucia. From there, it’s a rapid descent into high-stakes jobs, with new characters emerging to complicate things even more.
The Vice City aesthetic is fully intact: neon lights, sunsets, palm trees, shootouts, and sleek cars. While the trailer claims footage was captured on PS5, there’s still no gameplay shown. But Rockstar has the luxury of holding that back as long as it wants.
As for leaks, Rockstar likely secured the vault after the infamous Arion Kurtaj hacking incident in 2022. The 18-year-old Brit received a life sentence to be served in a secure hospital facility after leaking source code and footage from the game.
