GTA 6 Trailer Song Revealed – Rockstar’s Hot Choice Isn’t Just for the Vibes [VIDEO]

Characters, a vast open world, and a catchy song: Rockstar made a deliberate choice picking The Pointer Sisters’ Hot Together for GTA 6’s second trailer. Lucía and Jason’s explosive romance has found its anthem.

Rockstar had quite the surprise ready. Just days after announcing an unsurprising delay, the company dropped GTA 6’s second trailer, showcasing not only the protagonists and a few side characters, but also the game’s colorful and sprawling world. But many players had just one question: What’s that song in the background? Who’s singing it?

What’s the Song in the Second GTA 6 Trailer?

Back when the first teaser dropped nearly a year and a half ago, Rockstar picked Love is a Long Road by Tom Petty—a nod to the turbulent love between Jason Duval and Lucía Caminos. For this second trailer, they opted for Hot Together by The Pointer Sisters, written by Sharon Robinson. No real translation needed here—the lyrics are all about raw attraction. Here’s the chorus to get the idea:

We could be so hot, hot together
Hot, so hot together (Baby, we could be hot)
Anywhere you have fun (So hot)
You gotta break free
We could be so hot, hot together
Hot, so hot together (Baby, we could be hot)
We both know it could feel good
It would be so good, uh-uh-uh, yeah

Which matches the trailer perfectly. The preview switches between showcasing new characters and world locations, while highlighting intense moments between Lucía and Jason, who clearly still burn for each other after years apart. Together, they’re stronger—and the game’s plot, inspired by the tragic 1930s outlaw couple Bonnie and Clyde, leans heavily into this.

NBA Ads and Spaceballs – A Song with Pop Culture Roots

Where else have you heard Hot Together? Rockstar didn’t have to dig deep. The track was used in a 1987 NBA commercial, and it also featured in Spaceballs, the legendary sci-fi parody that’s finally getting a sequel after four decades. This music choice carries a perfect blend of attitude and nostalgia.

GTA 6 is slated for release on May 26, 2026. There’s every chance we’ll get another trailer before launch—maybe with another earworm of a soundtrack. Until then, Hot Together will be stuck in our heads.
