Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II: Senua Returns to PlayStation! [VIDEO]

Ninja Theory’s next big title is making its way to PlayStation 5, and a few new features are expected on Sony’s console.

The award-winning sequel to Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice sees Senua embark on a grueling survival journey through the myths and torments of Viking Iceland. Determined to save those suffering under tyranny, she must confront both the darkness around her and the one within. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II will be optimized for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro, with haptic feedback support offering a more immersive experience for players diving into this critically acclaimed chapter.

Step into Senua’s haunting world with breathtaking visuals and immersive audio design. See and hear the journey through her psychosis as a Celtic warrior navigating a 10th-century Iceland recreated from real-world locations. Expect visceral, brutal combat as she fights for survival. The game has been honored at The Game Awards, the 2025 BAFTA Games Awards, and more.

But here’s the catch: Ninja Theory has kept most of the PlayStation 5-specific enhancements under wraps. Aside from a brief mention of DualSense functionality, there’s no word on whether the PS5 Pro will surpass the Xbox Series X in visual fidelity, or whether new graphical modes will be included. Fans are left in the dark until the release date is officially revealed.

And that’s the other issue — there is no release date yet. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II launched for Xbox Series and PC on May 21, 2024. The PlayStation 5 version is expected “sometime this summer.” The game was also included in the latest Xbox Game Pass update, as covered in today’s news highlights.
