Henry Cavill’s Live-Action Voltron Movie Reaches Major Milestone

MOVIE NEWS – Former Superman Henry Cavill is set to star in the upcoming live-action adaptation of the beloved 1980s animated series Voltron, which has just received a significant update. The sci-fi action film is set to be released by Amazon, and although rumors have circulated that it will go directly to Prime Video, producer Bob Koplar has confirmed that no final decision has been made yet.

“Voltron Movie Wrapped.

Our live-action Voltron film has officially wrapped production, and we’re absolutely thrilled with how everything turned out.

I’ve been part of this franchise for years, and I can confidently say this WILL be the Voltron experience our fans have always dreamed of.

There’s been a lot of talk about how the movie will be released, and we want to reassure you that as soon as the official plans are finalized, you’ll be the first to know right here.

Stay with us! I promise it’ll be worth the wait.

The ‘Voltron’ Movie Will Introduce a New Generation of Pilots

The Voltron movie will stay true to the animated series, following the story of five teenagers who are whisked away from Earth and thrust into the middle of an intergalactic war. Together, they must learn to pilot five massive robotic lions and merge them into the mighty warrior known as Voltron.

The film boasts an impressive cast that includes Henry Cavill, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Sterling K. Brown, Rita Ora, Alba Baptista, Samson Kayo, John Kim, Tharanya Tharan, Laura Gordon, and Tim Griffin. Although the live-action version has faced years of delays since it was first proposed in 2005, Rawson Marshall Thurber, known for Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story and Red Notice, is finally ready to bring the story to life and introduce an entirely new generation of pilots.

In addition to Voltron, Henry Cavill is also working with Amazon on another beloved franchise: Highlander. He will star as the immortal warrior in John Wick director Chad Stahelski’s much-anticipated remake. Though Highlander doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet (it’s expected to hit theaters in 2026), Stahelski recently confirmed in an interview with MovieWeb’s George Edelman that it’s his next big project.

“But I am focused on the John Wick world, and I’m trying to incorporate everything I love into the perfect fit. Real growth, though, comes after you reflect on all the mistakes you made and all the things you could have done better—and then new influences come in and change your whole outlook. Like just going to New York for a week and scouting locations there [for Highlander]… I’m doing Highlander next. So that’s the mode I’m in now.”
