Still Wakes the Deep: DLC, 11 Years after the Events of the Base Game! [VIDEO]

We are now waiting for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 from The Chinese Room, who are not keeping us waiting much longer with their interior-view horror expansion.

Still Wakes the Deep, released last year, may have been The Chinese Room’s best game to date — and now we’re getting more of its chilling, Caledonian offshore horror. The studio recently announced that the game is getting a new expansion, and it’s coming in just a few days. Note: spoilers for the base game follow in the next paragraph.

The DLC, titled Siren’s Rest, is set 11 years after the original and stars Mhairi, a diver leading a crew to inspect the wreckage of the Beria D, now lying shattered at the bottom of the North Sea. The mission is to discover what happened to the crew and retrieve their remains. The Chinese Room says the DLC will take around 2 hours to complete and includes light detective elements: players will photograph human remains and collect keepsakes. Because the Beria D is now a debris field, you’ll use tools like cutting torches and crowbars to access sealed areas.

The original game was already intense above the water, and the addition of full-on thalassophobia and deep-sea wreck diving only ramps up the tension. And the best part? You won’t have to wait long. Still Wakes the Deep: Siren’s Rest arrives June 18, a Wednesday. The launch price is €11 (around 4400 HUF), rising to €13 (5200 HUF) afterward. The base game is also on sale for €17.50 (about 7000 HUF) on Steam.

This isn’t the only title in development at The Chinese Room. With any luck, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will be out by October.
