Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Will Receive Another Full Year of Content

Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment are doubling down on support for their acclaimed sequel, offering players a new year packed with both free and paid content.

Although Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 has already been confirmed to be in development, that doesn’t mean the team has abandoned its predecessor. Quite the opposite: Saber recently announced that Space Marine 2 will continue to receive fresh updates, with another full year of content already planned and a major new update set for release in September.

“We’re happy to announce that a second year of free content and DLC included in a new yearly season pass is on the way! This extended support for Space Marine 2 has been possible thanks to your unwavering support. Once again, thank you very much for being part of it! Expect new PvE missions, enemies, weapons, and more,” Saber and Focus wrote on Steam.

The studio also revealed that new gear—the Power Axe—will be introduced in the upcoming 10.0 update. This weapon comes with its own custom movement and execution animations but is not part of the second year’s roadmap. In addition, a brand-new class called the Techmarine is in development for both PvE and PvP. These characters serve as the Space Marines’ mechanical and technical specialists. More information about the class will be shared in the next community update.

A new PvP mode originally planned for the 9.0 update has been delayed to 10.0, but Saber has already provided a brief preview. The mode will take place on a new map where Chaos will face off against Chaos in a mysterious and ominous setting. Players will even be able to control Helbrute, one of the bosses from Space Marine 2. To complement the theme, new Chaos armor sets are also being added.

Further details about the new PvP mode coming in update 10.0 will be revealed in July and August blog posts.
