Jacob Fieth, who spent over eight years at the studio, states that several unannounced titles were suspended. While it’s not clear what specific games he’s referring to, the details Fieth provides give us some clues.

The ex-designer explicitly mentions having worked on “multiple canceled or unannounced projects.” His responsibilities included creating open-world events, designing gameplay systems, and player mobility. This only reinforces the theory that Days Gone 2 was in the prototype phase for a while before PlayStation decided to pull the plug for good.

At the same time, it’s been known for months that Bend Studio spent years developing a games-as-a-service title, which PlayStation also canceled just weeks ago—wasting time, money, and resources, and leading to layoffs at the studio. Days Gone fans mourned this, feeling Sony made a major misstep by betting so heavily on service games.
