Schwarzenegger Is in the New The Running Man

MOVIE NEWS – Stephen King’s The Running Man was made into a film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1987, and soon we’ll see another version directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz). The new Running Man features not just a spectacular chase but also more social commentary and absurd humor—and even a nod to Schwarzenegger himself, honoring the original star.

True movie fans love to examine trailers frame by frame, which is how one viewer spotted Arnie in The Running Man trailer, as reported by Slash/Film. He doesn’t have a speaking part; his face appears on a $100 bill. The story revolves around a huge, live-broadcast reality show in which contestants are constantly on the run from pursuers, and if they survive, they win a lot of money. In the show’s intro, the announcers wave bills featuring Schwarzenegger as President of the United States. The joke not only references the old movie but also Arnie’s real-life political career—he was twice elected governor of California.

In the trailer, Arnie’s face appears on the bill at 0:25, but it’s so brief that only dedicated Easter egg hunters will catch it.
