Vincent D’Onofrio Teases a Fiery Rematch in Marvel’s ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season Two

MOVIE NEWS – Production on the highly anticipated second season of Daredevil: Born Again has officially wrapped, and key cast and crew members wasted no time expressing their gratitude and excitement across social media. With on-location shooting throughout New York, fans got sneak peeks of Daredevil’s refreshed costume and a familiar Defender making the leap from Netflix to Disney+. To mark the milestone, Vincent D’Onofrio shared his own thrill online, hinting that the next batch of episodes will deliver a long-awaited, explosive clash between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk.

Posting to X, D’Onofrio revealed a behind-the-scenes shot as Wilson Fisk, confirming that filming had concluded. In his message—see below—he told fans he can’t wait for them to experience what lies ahead in Born Again’s new chapter. The first season wrapped on a dark note: D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, at the peak of his mayoral power, locked down New York City and imposed martial law, asserting dominance in ways fans hadn’t seen before.

For much of Born Again’s debut season, D’Onofrio portrayed Fisk with deliberate restraint, struggling to keep his most violent instincts at bay. But as the season drew to a close, that mask crumbled—Kingpin’s volatility returned in force, echoing the raw menace familiar from the Netflix era. With Season 2, viewers should brace for a Kingpin more ferocious and uncompromising than ever, as D’Onofrio embraces the role’s full, intimidating potential.

Season Two Promises a Showdown Like No Other

D’Onofrio’s journey back to the Marvel universe as Fisk has been as compelling as Charlie Cox’s triumphant return as Daredevil. Fisk reappeared in the Hawkeye limited series on Disney+, orchestrating chaos behind the scenes as the shadowy mastermind. There, he seemed to meet his end at the hands of Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox), a character he’d acted as a surrogate father to for years.

Maya’s story continued in Echo, where D’Onofrio reprised his role—revealing Fisk survived, thirsting for revenge before Maya managed to curb his violent ways. That’s the emotionally complex state we find him in at Born Again’s start, though it’s not long before Fisk’s old ruthlessness reemerges. The big question now: will Fisk make it through Season 2? The narrative is building toward a final reckoning with Matt Murdock, a rivalry spanning three seasons in which Daredevil has repeatedly spared his adversary’s life. With everything on the line, fans can expect another powerhouse performance from D’Onofrio as the Kingpin story reaches its most intense chapter yet.
