AMD’s New Graphics Card and Processor for AI Workstations!

TECH NEWS – AMD has announced the release dates for two products, one of which will not be available for purchase separately until later (second-hand).

The company unveiled the official retail launch dates for its latest CPUs and GPUs. At Computex, the company unveiled its latest Threadripper Pro 9000 WX series and RDNA 4-based graphics card for workstations and announced that the products would be available in July. In two separate blog posts, the company announced July 23 as the official retail launch date for the two products.

The AMD RDNA 4-based Radeon AI Pro R9700 is the company’s latest workstation graphics card. It is based on the Navi 48 architecture, which is also used in the Radeon RX 9070 series. However, the R9700 is specifically designed for workloads such as professional programs and AI operations. With 32 GB of GDDR6 memory via a 256-bit memory interface and 128 AI accelerators, the GPU can handle modern AI workloads and provides up to 496% greater performance than the RTX 5080 for large AI models. For now, the Radeon AI Pro R9700 will not be available for individual purchase and will only be available through pre-assembled workstation systems from select AMD hardware partners.

Regarding the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 9000 WX series, a major North American retailer will reportedly begin accepting pre-orders on July 23. This is apparently also the official release date for these Zen 5 workstation processors, which are designed for enterprise use. The Threadripper Pro 9000 WX series offers top performance for professional tasks and machine learning (ML) workloads and provides up to 96 cores for the Threadripper Pro 9995WX flagship model. According to AMD’s internal tests, the Threadripper Pro 9995WX delivers up to 26% more performance than its predecessor. Compared to Intel’s Xeon W9-3595X, AMD claims that the CPU delivers up to 495% more AI performance.

Since the prices won’t be tailored to our budgets, it’s probably best not to mention how much these behemoths will cost.
